- a variety of hardware and communications paths, A2B provides a uniform
- user interface for communications.
-
- A2B Tools for Visual Basic provides 7 custom controls to give programmers
- complete control of remote host connections. A2B Allows multiple 3270,
- VT100/220 and TTY sessions for emulation file transfer and printing.
- Remote support includes Async Dial-up, X.25, Dial-up TCP/IP (SLIP/PPP),
- Remote LAN Access. Also supports TCP/IP, Netware for SAA, 3270 cards, and more.
-
- A2B provides the following features:
-
- - Takes full advantage of the Windows graphical interface
-
- - Multiple session capability where a maximum number of eight sessions
- can be open per instance of A2B and where up to 32 sessions can be opened
- simultaneously with multiple instances of A2B.
-
- - 3270 terminal emulation for full-screen 3270 model 2,3,4, and 5 access to
- host applications, with no need for addition hardware.
-
- - 3270 terminal emulation through hardware protocol converters. This
- feature provides copy and paste screen editing operations and supports
- SimXfer file transfer.
-
- - Supports IBM, IRMA II, IRMA III, and Xircom adapter cards to connect to
- an IBM mainframe.
-
- - The Advantage programming language for automating A2B procedures and
- customizing the A2B interface for use with mainframe applications.
-
- - Online information and context-sensitive help compatible with the
- Microsoft Windows Help Facility.
-
- - Support for SimXfer, Simware's advanced file transfer protocol, for IBM
- hosts running VM, TSO, CICS, and VTAM.
-
- - Support for IBM's IND$FILE file transfer protocol for VM, TSO, and CICS.
-
- - Support for the Kermit, Xmodem, Xmodem 1K, Ymodem, Ymodem-G and
- Zmodem file transfer protocols.
-
- - Error detection and correction, and data compression to ensure accurate,
- efficient data transmission.
-
- - VT100 and VT220 emulation which enables A2B's emulation screen to appear as
- DEC VT100 and DEC VT220 terminals.
-
- - TTY emulation provides line-by-line access to host computers.
-
- - 3287 printer emulation allows you to route print jobs from a host
- application to a locally attached printer, or a PC file.
-
- - Support for EICON X.PAD, EICON X.25, Ungermann-Bass NUI, and
- Generic INT 14 asynchronous LAN gateway connection methods.
-
- - Support for Novell's Netware for SAA to provide communications between
- LANs and IBM hosts.
-
- - Support for Novell Netware Asynchronous Communications Services (NACS).
-
- - A TCP/IP protocol stack (A2B TCP/IP Kernel). Also provided are the following
- TCP/IP services: Telnet, TN3270, automated SLIP and PPP, FTP, LPR and LPD
- Printing, Mail and Newsreader.
-
- - EHLLAPI for A2B which is an implementation of a subset of IBM's 3270
- Emulation High-Level Language Application Programming Interface.
- EHLLAPI for A2B provides for interaction between the front-end
- application you have developed to run in a Microsoft Windows environment,
- and one or more 3270 host sessions.
-
- Also offered with A2B are:
-
- - SecondLook to create views and customize A2B front-ends to other applications.
-
- - the SplitSecond performance product which dramatically reduces
- transmission costs and improves response times for A2B users.
